We are deeply saddened by the senseless death of our colleague, Sir David Amess MP. He lost his life doing what he loved - serving his constituents. Sir David was an exceptionally hard working Member of Parliament for many years and will be greatly missed by his constituents, colleagues, friends and, most of all, family. Our thoughts are with those closest to Sir David and our sincerest condolences are with his family.
MPs work tirelessly to help and represent their constituents and for many years now have been subject to threats, violence and harassment from members of the public. Now, more than ever, we will stand strong against extremism and political hatred and will not let this disgraceful act affect the hard work our MP, Robert Largan, does for our community. We will be supporting Robert and his team so that he can carry out his Parliamentary duties helping those who need him most and continue to be the hard-working, strong voice for the High Peak.
